Meta Platforms, Inc. (META) CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of Meta Verified on Facebook and Instagram in the United States today. The paid membership program, which debuted in Australia and New Zealand last month, enables users to pay a monthly charge to add the coveted blue check mark to their Instagram and Facebook pages. At $11.99 per month on the web and $14.99 per month on mobile, Meta Verified is available.
Members will receive more exposure, special stickers, and one hundred stars each month to promote their preferred creators. Australia and New Zealand were the first two countries to provide the service, and Meta promised that more would follow.
The product imitates Twitter’s verification scheme, which was introduced by CEO Elon Musk last year and gives paying customers access to features not available to free users of the social networking service.
You can request to be on the waitlist if you’re interested in Meta Verified.
