Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has bought a waterfront property in Miami Florida reportedly for up to $200 million. He and wife Priscilla Chan will soon have Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, and his wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos as neighbors, and many other celebrities too, though the distance between their estates will be huge as many of them have bought massive properties in the same man made, gated barrier island Indian Creek that is often called Billionaire Bunker.
Some of Mark Zuckerberg’s neighbors will include Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, Carl Icahn, football legend Tom Brady and other billionaires who own estates and mansions in the exclusive Indian Creek island. The 300-acre island is located in Biscayne Bay, South Florida and is near Miami Beach. It has about 30 homes, a golf course and an exclusive country club.
Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly bought the property from an entity linked to Jersey Mike’s founder Peter Cancro. The deal appears to be good for both the billionaires as Florida has no state income tax. The estate will also allow Zuckerberg to pull up right to the dock when he uses his $300 million superyacht to sail to Florida.
The cost of the property is not known as it has not been listed. Many high-end properties are not listed and are bought through linked companies. However, multiple outlets including the Wall Street Journal which was the first to report the luxury purchase said that a neighbor Irma Braman told the WSJ, “We’re happy to have him.”
She also said that the Meta founder had mentioned moving in by April. Irma Braman is the wife of billionaire auto dealer Norman Braman.
The Zuckerberg owned property is said to sit on an almost 2-acre plot. It has a huge opening into the waterfront and lush green lawns. Aerial views show that it has wrap around terraces, and a waterfront pool and construction is ongoing.
Mark Zuckerberg has bought several properties and sold some throughout the nation. He has reportedly acquired properties not only in California (Palo Alto, Lake Tahoe) but also in Hawaii and Washington DC. So, it remains to be seen if he will move out of California, as he is an astute billionaire businessman and might just be increasing his valuable real estate portfolio.
