The Phoenix Mercury have re-signed guard Shey Peddy.
Peddy, 34, is coming back from a ruptured right Achilles tendon suffered during the 2022 WNBA playoffs.
Before the injury, she averaged a career-best 9.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 steals in 34 games (24 starts).
“Through hard work and a tremendous attitude, Shey has established herself as an important part of our team, on and off the floor,” general manager Jim Pitman said in a news release. “Despite the adversity we faced last year, Shey was one of the engines that would not let our effort or enthusiasm wane, something her teammates and our fans responded to all season long.
“While it was devastating to see her injury in the playoffs, it has been gratifying to see her relentless work in her rehab and we look forward to seeing her back on the floor for the Mercury.”
Peddy has career averages of 6.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 98 games (29 starts) with the Washington Mystics (2019-20) and Mercury.
