Keonte Kennedy will join his fourth team in six years and transfer from Memphis to Cal in 2023-24, he announced Tuesday.
In 90 games (52) starts for Xavier (2018-19), UTEP (2020-22) and Memphis (2022-23), Kennedy has career averages of 8.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
Kennedy started 12 of his 25 appearances for Memphis last season and posted 9.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. He was a two-year starter for UTEP before that.
Cal went an abysmal 3-29 last season and fired coach Mark Fox, hiring Mark Madsen to replace him. Madsen held the same position at Utah Valley, having led that program to a 28-9 record and a run to the NIT semifinals in 2022-23.
