Memphis guard Tyrese Hunter has been ruled out of Sunday’s American Athletic Conference tournament title game versus UAB with a left foot injury, coach Penny Hardaway announced.

Baraka Okojie will make his first start with the Tigers in place of Hunter, who averaged 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.5 steals in 32 games (all starts) this season.

Okojie has contributed 1.4 points and 1.2 boards while averaging 10.2 minutes per game this season for No. 16 Memphis.

The Tigers (28-5) are the top seed in the tournament and escaped with a one-point win over fourth-seeded Tulane on Saturday afternoon.

The Blazers (22-11) are the third seed and reached the conference title game after knocking off second-seeded North Texas in the second semifinal on Saturday.
