Ford Motor Co. has joined the LPGA Tour as the title sponsor of next month’s Phoenix-area tournament, the tour announced Tuesday.

The Ford Championship will take place from March 28-31 at Seville Golf and Country Club in Gilbert, Ariz., where the 144-player field will compete for a $2 million purse.

“We’re proud to align with Ford, a global brand that recognizes the transformative power of women’s sports and shares our commitment to empowering girls and women, both on and off the golf course,” LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan said. “Together, we aim to elevate the LPGA through this world-class event which will spotlight the incredible talent of our athletes while creating an unforgettable experience for fans.”

The LPGA Tour has competed in Arizona more than 70 times since its inception in 1950. Most recently, Celine Boutier captured the 2023 Drive On Championship at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club for the first of her four victories in 2023. This will be the first professional competition held at Seville Golf and Country Club,

“Ford’s collaboration with the LPGA Tour represents our commitment to supporting women in sports and showcasing their incredible talent on a global stage,” said Lisa Materazzo, global chief marketing officer for Ford. “Through the Ford Championship presented by KCC, we aim to elevate the visibility of female athletes in the golfing world and inspire a new generation of fans.”
