LOL News: TSM end FlyQuest’s perfect start in LCS Spring Split

TSM ended FlyQuest’s unbeaten run in the League Championship Series Spring Split on Thursday, earning a 38-minute win on blue.

The result allowed TSM to climb into a tie for fourth place at 4-4, while FlyQuest slipped to 7-1.

Evil Geniuses and Cloud9 climbed within one game of FlyQuest by beating Team Liquid and Immortals, respectively. In the day’s other action, Counter Logic Gaming topped 100 Thieves, and Golden Guardians defeated Dignitas.

All 10 teams in the top North American League of Legends circuit will play every other team twice through March 17. The first- through fourth-place teams will then head to the upper-bracket semifinals of the double-elimination playoffs. The fifth- and sixth-place teams will enter the playoffs in the lower bracket.

The winner and runner-up in the playoff final will earn berths in the Mid-Season Invitational along with other teams from LoL leagues worldwide. The LCS Spring Split carries a $200,000 prize pool, with the champion earning $100,000.

On Thursday, Vietnamese-American player Toan “Neo” Tran paced TSM with an 8-0-8 kills-deaths-assists ratio. Lee “Prince” Chae-hwan of South Korea led FlyQuest at 3-3-5.

Evil Geniuses, playing on blue, needed 45 minutes to get past Team Liquid. South Korea’s Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho finished at 9-2-4 for Evil Geniuses, while the United States’ Sean “Yeon” Sung wound up at 5-5-2 for Team Liquid.

Cloud9 posted a 29-minute win on red over Immortals. Australia’s Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami produced a 9-2-2 K-D-A ratio for Cloud9. Canada’s Nicholas Antonio “Ablazeolive” Abbott logged a 2-3-2 for Immortals.

Counter Logic Gaming prevailed in 35 minutes on red against 100 Thieves. The United States’ Juan Arturo “Contractz” Garcia registered a 5-0-7 K-D-A ratio for Counter Logic Gaming. Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng of the United States had a 1-3-1 K-D-A ratio for 100 Thieves.

Golden Guardians notched a 29-minute win in blue against Dignitas. Trevor “Stixxay” Hayes of the United States rolled to a 7-0-5 K-D-A ratio for Golden Guardians. Canada’s Trevor “Spawn” Kerr-Taylor produced a 2-3-0 K-D-A ratio for Dignitas.

Week 4 action concludes Friday with five matches:
