LOL News: Team Liquid still unbeaten at LCS Summer Split

Team Liquid kept its unbeaten run at the League Championship Series Summer Split alive on Saturday, beating Dignitas 2-1 to take sole possession of first play in group play.

The win moved Liquid to 4-0, a half-game up on Cloud9. At 3-0, Cloud9 plays 100 Thieves on Sunday.

Eight teams are fighting for six spots in the Summer Split’s double-elimination playoff bracket. The top two seeds will head to the upper-bracket semifinals, with the other four seeds duking it out in the upper-bracket quarterfinals.

All group-play matches are best of three while the playoffs are best of five. The winner will take home $100,000 of the $200,000 prize pool, with the top three teams qualifying for the World Championship.

Playing the first match of the day Sunday, Liquid won on red in 29 minutes to open the match. Dignitas responded with a 33-minute win on green, but Liquid took the deciding map in 24 minutes.

In the day’s other match, FlyQuest swept Immortals, winning both maps on green (in 29 and 31 minutes).

Week 4 concludes Sunday with a pair of matches. There are six weeks total in group play.
