LOL News: MAD Lions, GAM Esports punch tickets to Swiss Stage of Worlds

MAD Lions KOI and GAM Esports each recorded a victory Friday to qualify for the Swiss Stage of the 2024 League of Legends World Championship in Berlin, Germany.

MAD Lions posted a 2-1 win over PSG Talon after sandwiching 36- and 33-minute wins on blue around a 35-minute decision. David “Supa” Martinez Garcia had a 23/6/11 kill-death-assist ratio for the winners.

GAM Esports had an easier time of it versus Rainbow7, securing 33- and 27-minute wins on blue. Thai Vinh “Emo” Nguyen had an 8/1/4 K-D-A ratio and Tran Duy “Kiaya” Sang added 7/2/9 for GAM Esports.

The Swiss Stage will be conducted from Oct. 3-13, also in Berlin.

After their losses, PSG Talon and Rainbow7 will await their foes in Sunday’s decider matches. PSG Talon will face either 100 Thieves or Fukuoka HAWKS gaming, while Rainbow7 will await the victor of the match between Viking Esports and paiN Gaming.

All play-in matches, which run through Sunday, are best-of-three. Eight teams began the double-elimination event, with the top four reaching the Swiss Stage.

–Fukuoka HAWKS gaming vs. 100 Thieves
