Cloud9’s unscathed run through the playoffs ended Sunday in the grand final as LYON won 3-1 to capture the League Championship Series 2026 Lock-In at Los Angeles.
LYON emerged from the lower bracket with wins in the quarterfinals, semifinal and final, including a 3-1 victory over Sentinels on Saturday. LYON was 1-2 and fifth in the Swiss stage standings to advance to the playoffs.
Cloud9, which finished atop the Swiss stage standings with a 3-0 record, moved through the playoffs by beating FlyQuest 3-0 in the upper-bracket semifinal and Sentinels 3-0 in the upper-bracket final on Feb. 22.
On Sunday, however, after Cloud9 won the opening map in 38 minutes on red, LYON rallied with wins in 35 minutes on red, 41 minutes on blue and 31 minutes on red.
LYON’s Kang “Saint” Seong-in and fellow South Korean Park “Thanatos” Seung-gyu of Cloud9 were selected the Most Valuable Players. Saint posted a 14-8-23 kill-death-assist ratio, while Thanatos had an 8-16-12 K-D-A.
Following the eight-team Swiss stage in the League of Legends event, six teams competed in the double-elimination playoffs, with all matches best-of-five. LYON, as the overall winner, qualified for the First Stand Tournament, while second-place Cloud9 and third-place Sentinels will head to the Americas Cup.
Both of the latter two events will be contested in Sao Paulo.
