Gen.G Esports and T1 each won their quarterfinal matches Friday at the Esports World Cup League of Legends event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Gen.G recorded a 2-0 victory over FlyQuest, courtesy of a 32-minute win on red and a 31-minute victory on blue.
The Gen.G win set up a Saturday semifinal encounter against G2 Esports, who posted a 2-1 triumph over Bilibili Gaming on Thursday.
T1 had a harder time of it on Friday before securing a 2-1 victory over KOI.
T1 sandwiched 29- and 27-minute wins on blue around KOI’s 29-minute victory on blue.
With the victory, T1 advanced to a the other semifinal Saturday and will meet AG.AL, who seized a 2-1 triumph over Hanwha Life on Thursday.
Twelve teams are competing for shares of a $2 million prize pool at the Esports World Cup 2025. The tournament is also part of the Club Championship that will award $7 million to the winning team at the end of the Cup.
