GAM Esports and Team BDS each recorded a sweep Friday to advance to their groups’ decider matches in the play-in stage of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship.

GAM swept Rainbow7 in a Group A elimination match and BDS did the same to DetonatioN FocusMe in Group B.

GAM won in 26 and 31 minutes on red to set up Saturday’s decider match against LOUD. BDS emerged victorious in 27 minutes on red and 28 minutes on blue to advance to Saturday’s match versus CTBC Flying Oyster.

The winners of those decider matches advance to Round 2 of the play-in stage, where PSG Talon and Team Whales await.

All matches in the play-in rounds are best-of-three.

After the play-in rounds, the $2.225 million world championships advance to the Swiss stage and then the knockout stage. All rounds are being contested in venues in South Korea. The knockout round will culminate with the Nov. 19 grand final at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
