Evil Geniuses pulled out a 3-2 win over TSM on Friday in the lower-bracket quarterfinals of the League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split playoffs.
Evil Geniuses move on to oppose Team Liquid in the lower-bracket semifinals on Sunday. TSM are out of the event following the defeat.
The $200,000 double-elimination event culminates the season for the top North American League of Legends circuit. The top three finishers will earn berths in the $2.25 million League of Legends World Championships, scheduled for Sept. 29-Nov. 5 in San Francisco, Atlanta, New York and Mexico City.
The LCS winning side will pocket $100,000 and the runner-up will get $50,000. All LCS Summer Split matches are best-of-five, including the grand final on Sept. 11.
TSM opened the Friday match with a 46-minute win on red, but Evil Geniuses charged in front thanks to a 36-minute victory on blue and a 34-minute triumph on red.
TSM leveled the match with a 29-minute win on red before Evil Geniuses wrapped up the series with a 43-minute victory on blue.
Poland’s Kacper “Inspired” Sloma paced Evil Geniuses with a 22/7/35 kill-death-assist ratio. Taiwan’s Huang “Maple” Yi-Tang wound up at 17/14/24 for TSM.
