Decorated player Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng announced his retirement from League of Legends play during a video posted to social media.

His announcement via YouTube wasn’t the first time that Doublelift publicly called it quits, however. He stepped away from TSM in 2020 and pursued a full-time streaming career before returning in December 2022 to compete with 100 Thieves.

Doublelift, 30, began his career with Counter Logic Gaming in 2011 and has won eight League Championship Series titles, the most by any player.

“I feel like I’ve accomplished everything that I have set out to accomplish except for one thing, which is to win Worlds,” Doublelift said in his video. “That’s the last thing I was never able to get to, but the cycle of setting a goal for yourself and grinding, and then setting a new goal for yourself, it kind of reflects everything.”
