Bilibili Gaming made relatively quick work of Weibo Gaming in cruising to a 3-0 victory Saturday to earn a spot in the 2024 League of Legends World Championship grand final in Berlin.
The China-based team awaits the winner of Sunday’s T1 vs. Gen.G Esports semifinal for a championship contest to take place next Saturday.
Bilibili played on red the entire duration and opened with a 39-minute win. They followed with victories in 32 minutes and 28 minutes to secure the best-of-five match.
Zhuo “knight” Ding secured MVP honors with 19 kills and 18 assists and just one death.
Zhao “Elk” Jiahao added 13 kills and 20 assists.
The Swiss Stage format of the $2.225 million event sorted 16 teams through five rounds, with the top eight teams after the five rounds advancing to the single-elimination knockout stage. All knockout matches are best-of-five, with the grand final being played on Nov. 2.
The world champion receives $445,000, with the runner-up taking home $356,000. All eight quarterfinalists are guaranteed at least $100,125.
