Two-time WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart re-signed with the New York Liberty on Saturday.

Terms of the deal were not announced by the Liberty, however the New York Post reported it was a one-year contract with $208,400 guaranteed.

A three-time league champion, Stewart was named the MVP of the WNBA Finals on two occasions. A six-time All-Star, she also has been selected six times to the All-WNBA first team.

“Bringing Stewie back to the Liberty was our top priority this offseason,” Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb said. “Her impact on and off the court is immeasurable — she’s not only one of the best and most accomplished players in the world, but a leader whose relentless drive is foundational to the standard we continue to build upon in New York.”

Stewart, 30, averaged 20.4 points and 8.5 rebounds in 38 games (all starts) last season, helping the Liberty capture the franchise’s first WNBA title with a series victory over the Minnesota Lynx in five games.

She has contributed 20.8 points and 8.7 boards in 261 career games (all starts) with the Seattle Storm and New York.

The Liberty begin their season on May 17 at home against the Las Vegas Aces.
