LeBron James is content with his four Olympic medals.

Speaking on the “Mind the Game” podcast, the NBA great said he has no plans to play for the United States in the 2028 Summer Olympics in his current city of residence, Los Angeles.

“You already know my answer,” James, 40, said. “I will be watching it.”

He’ll no doubt have a front-row seat at the basketball competition in Inglewood during the Olympics. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, also speaking on the podcast, just might be sitting with James.

Curry will be 40 when the Los Angeles Games roll around, and he said he doesn’t expect to make a second Olympics appearance.

“God willing, I still have the choice and physical option where I could impact the team,” Curry said. “Never say never, but I highly doubt it. Highly doubt it.”

James is nearing his season debut with the Los Angeles Lakers after being sidelined due to a sciatica issue. He won a bronze medal in the 2004 Games, adding golds in 2008, 2012 and 2024.

Curry did not play in the Olympics until 2024 in Paris, not playing in prior Summer Games either because of injuries or long postseason runs with Golden State.

Curry was key to the United States winning its fifth consecutive gold medal in 2024 in Paris. He averaged a team-best 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 23.3 minutes.
