Landstar System (NASDAQ: LSTR) reported its Q3 results last week, with EPS of $2.76 coming in worse than the Street estimate of $2.77. Revenue was $1.82 billion, slightly better than the Street estimate of $1.81 billion.
Q3 number of loads (volume)/revenue per load (pricing) via truck was up 1%/flat year-over-year. After eight quarters of meaningful year-over-year growth, these metrics appear on the cusp of inflecting. Nonetheless, the company’s Q3 revenue and EPS were still quarterly records.
The company expects Q4 revenue to be in the range of $1.775—1.825 billion, compared to the partially updated Street estimate of $1.775 billion. Q4 EPS is expected to be in the range of $2.60—2.70, compared to the partially updated Street estimate of $2.59.
