Tragically, Kobe and their daughter Gianna were killed in a helicopter crash on January 26, 2020. Vanessa has since become an advocate for mental health and grief support and has also taken legal action against the helicopter company and pilot involved in the accident. She continues to honor the memory of her husband and daughter through various initiatives and tributes.

After discovering that the initial responders to the chopper crash took unapproved pictures of the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant and seven others, Vanessa Bryant filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles County.

Vanessa Bryant received $28.9 million to resolve all outstanding claims related to images of the Kobe crash site. Kobe Bryant’s family and Los Angeles County have settled a lawsuit containing images from the scene of the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven other people for several million dollars.

In August of last year, a federal jury awarded $15 million in damages to Vanessa Bryant for the emotional suffering the images caused her.

Vanessa Bryant is the widow of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. She was born Vanessa Cornejo Urbieta on May 5, 1982, in Huntington Beach, California. She met Kobe Bryant in November 1999 when she was 17 years old and working as a background dancer in a music video.

Vanessa and Kobe began dating and got engaged just six months later. They were married on April 18, 2001, in a private ceremony in Dana Point, California. The couple went on to have four daughters together: Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri.

Kobe Bryant was a legendary professional basketball player who played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on August 23, 1978, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Bryant played in the NBA for 20 seasons, all with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was an 18-time NBA All-Star, a five-time NBA champion, and won the NBA Finals MVP award twice. He was also a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the United States men’s basketball team.

Bryant was known for his incredible work ethic and competitiveness on the basketball court and was widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He was also known for his dedication to his family and his philanthropic work, including his work with the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation.

RIP Kobe
