Kim Kardashian has expressed public displeasure with Miley Cyrus. The reality star unfollowed the talented singer a few days after the beginning of the New Year, after after Miley performed on New Year’s Eve 2021 with Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live (SNL) in Miami. The two young and popular stars had hosted a special show on TV for New Year’s Eve for NBC and its streaming platform Peacock.
Earlier Miley Cyrus had serenaded Pete Davidson in The Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon when they were on the show to promote the New Year’s Eve event. Miley sang the lyrics of “It should have been me” and kept on focusing on her SNL costar. Miley’s fans were the ones who pointed that Kim Kardashian had unfollowed Miley.
Incidentally, the SNL host Pete is Kim’s boyfriend probably since October. They had officially been dating from November according to Page Six. However, Hannah Montana star and Pete Davidson have been friends from a longtime and have known each other from years and they have performed together on SNL sketches.
There has been no response or comment from representatives of Kim, Pete or Miley, when asked for comment by many outlets.
The star studded show New Year Eve also had performances by Brandi Carlile, Jack Harlow as well as by Saweetie. Miley Cyrus performed a few of her popular numbers including “Jolene” with Noah Cyrus. Jolene is an all time favorite and iconic song of her godmother Dolly Parton. Miley Cyrus also performed her own tracks including “We Can’t Stop” and “Party in the U.S.A.” She also performed “The Climb” with Carlile.
The pop star’s performance was spectacular as usual as the talented singer has wowed audiences from her Hannah Montana days with Billy Ray Cyrus on Disney Channel. However, this particular New Year Eve’s show might be remembered as much for her wardrobe malfunction as for her musical talent!
While singing her hit track, “Party in the U.S.A.” her silver top slipped off. Instead of it becoming an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction, the young singer handled the situation with humor. She clutched the top in front of her, turned her back to the camera and went backstage. She came back wearing a red open jacket.
She humorously changed the lyrics of her track to reflect the situation. Pete Davidson also helped diffuse the situation as he quipped “I heard we may have had a boob slip. So, in solidarity here’s my boobies,” he quipped, before introducing the next star who would perform. Then, Pete lifted his shirt and exposed his chest.
