The investigation of the Kiely Rodni case continues, the California authorities have revealed that in the hours before she disappeared from a “drug-fueled” campsite party over a week ago, Kiely Rodni, the missing teen was wearing a pink and white sweatshirt.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office shared a picture on social media late Sunday night of a white hoodie with pink lettering that reads “Odd Future,” which detectives claim Rodni was wearing in a video taken at the party the night before she vanished. Although it wasn’t made clear in the post whether the teen was wearing it at the time of her disappearance, it urged anyone with memories of seeing Rodni that evening to get in touch with the police.
Near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, where she attended an alleged alcohol-fueled gathering of more than 200 teens and young adults, Kiely was last seen at around 12.30 am on August 6. The 16-year-old has not been seen or heard from since her phone last rang at around 12.33 am.
Her 2013 Honda CRV, which is silver, has also vanished. After almost 10 days and more than 1,200 public tips, the investigation has come to a standstill. When FBI agents dug up a dead dog while investigating a “potential burial site” on Saturday, one of those tips turned out to be false.
Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, Kiely’s mother, has continued pleading with partygoers who may have seen her daughter for information. The sheriff’s office tweeted a picture of Rodni on Thursday wearing necklaces that she might have been wearing when she vanished. Prior to that, Rodni was seen in a surveillance video posted to Twitter by the sheriff’s office on August 5 at a Truckee business. She was pictured there sporting a black top akin to the one above, green Dickies-inspired bottoms, and Vans footwear.
The search is being assisted by hundreds of people, including volunteers and members of law enforcement. According to deputies, they have at least 1,200 leads at this they will keep searching as long as more tips come in. Finding Rodni has now become the responsibility of 307 law enforcement officers, three air resources, and two dive teams. Anyone with knowledge of Rodni’s whereabouts is urged to come forward.
