Elyjah Freeman recorded 21 points and five rebounds and No. 20 Auburn rolled to a 93-62 victory over visiting Wofford in Tuesday night’s nonconference game.
Keyshawn Hall added 20 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, three blocked shots and two steals for the Tigers (3-0). He made all three of his 3-point attempts for Auburn, which led by as many as 33 points.
Hall has scored 20 or more points in each game for Auburn. He’s at his fourth school and led the Big 12 in scoring last season while starring for UCF. He also has played at UNLV and George Mason.
Kevin Overton added 13 points and three steals for Auburn, which topped 90 points for the third straight game. He also knocked down three 3-point attempts as the Tigers went 9 of 27 from behind the arc and shot 50.7% overall.
Chace Watley scored 11 points and Kahmare Holmes added 10 for Wofford (1-2).
The Terriers made 38.7% of their shots and were 6 of 25 from behind the arc. But they couldn’t compete on the boards with Auburn, which owned a 48-27 rebounding edge.
Hall and Freeman each scored 13 first-half points as Auburn led 40-22 at halftime.
Hall scored 11 straight points for Auburn over a span of 107 seconds — two free throws, two 3-pointers and a 3-point play — as the Tigers took a 17-8 lead.
Freeman later buried a 3-pointer to end a 7-0 push as the Tigers led 26-12 with 9:43 left in the half.
A basket by Kaden Magwood made it 32-16 with 7:27 remaining.
Auburn built on its 18-point halftime cushion with an 11-4 run to start the half that made it 51-26.
Overton made two 3-pointers in 33 seconds to give the Tigers a 63-31 advantage with 14:11 remaining.
Hall’s steal and dunk got him to 20 points and gave Auburn an 82-51 lead with 5:43 left as the Tigers cruised to the finish.
