In the actor’s child support dispute with his separated wife Christine, a California judge has agreed with Kevin Costner and ordered him to pay $63,000 per month rather than the $162,000 per month Christine requested, according to People Magazine.
Kevin Costner commented about his difficult divorce court proceedings with estranged wife Christine Baumgartner, commenting to Access Hollywood outside the courtroom, “This is a horrible place to be.”
According to People, Costner believes that he should only be required to pay $60,000 per month in child support for his children Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13, while Baumgartner is asking for $161,592 per month. She had originally requested $175,000 per month, court records show.
Court proceedings reveal that Celebrity Actor, Kevin Costner, will now have to pay Baumgartner, $63,209 per month for their three children: sons Cayden, 15, Logan, 14, and their daughter Grace, who is 12. Christine Baumgartner was receiving $129,755 before the decision was made on a temporary basis.
Costner said he could not pay the amount that Christine was asking due to his leaving the television series Yellowstone. Baumgartner wanted more money so the couple’s children would maintain the same standard of living with her as they do with their father.
Baumgartner’s lawyers stated in a legal brief filed just this past Wednesday, Because the children fly on private aircraft to go on luxury vacations when they are with their father, the Family Code dictates that Kevin should pay sufficient child support to Christine so that the children can go on comparable vacations when they are with her. This is true even if the child support payments also improve Christine’s lifestyle.”
According to the provisions of her prenuptial agreement with Kevin, Christine left the family home on the $145 million Santa Barbara estate in July, a source told PEOPLE. She moved to a nearby rental home for $40,000 a month after first residing in a smaller house on the property, as was verified in court on Thursday.
