Celebrity comedian Kathy Griffin says she has ling cancer, but never smoked. Her doctors say she should do well in the surgery and should have a speedy recovery. Half of her left ling will be removed. The cancer is stage 1 and only ½ her lung will be removed.
“It’s been a helluva four years, trying to get back to work, making you guys laugh and entertaining you, but I’m gonna be just fine,” she wrote. “Please stay up to date on your medical check ups.”
Griffin has had a difficult few years facing backlash in 2017 that she took part in a photoshoot that showed her holding up a fake bloody head resembling President Donald Trump. Her sister, Joyce Griffin, died of cancer in September 2017. Maggie Griffin, Kathy’s mother passed away in March 2020 after having dementia.
