Kate Middleton and Prince William have shared a new portrait of their family that has been featured on their Christmas Card for 2021. The picture shows the royal couple, with their three children–Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
On Friday, the couple shared the family photo and wrote on their Instagram story: “Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year’s Christmas card, followed by the emoji of a Christmas tree.
Kensington Palace, where the royal couple live, released a statement that said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were pleased to share a new photograph of their family. It noted that the photograph featured on their Christmas card for the year 2021 and showed the royal family in Jordan, earlier in the year.
Kate has significant memories of Jordan as she lived in the country for two years when her father Mike worked for British Airways. In 2018, Prince William had visited Jordan as a part of his Middle East tour.
Kate and William are smiling and are dressed in similar khaki colored outfits. Kate is wearing a khaki dress while William is wearing a matching polo shirt. They are sitting next to each other with a hand on each other’s knee. Prince William’s hand is on 6-year old Princess Charlotte’s shoulder while Kate’s hand is on 8-year old Prince George’s arm. Prince Louis, who is three years old, is sitting in front of Kate. They are posing against a scenic stone background.
Some of the earlier Christmas cards of the royal family have featured a cozy picture of them in sweaters at Ammer Hall, their country home in Norfolk, in 2020. In 2019, they casually posed in front of a vintage car while in 2018, it was a casual outdoor photo of them in their country home.
Earlier this week, Kate and William brought in the Christmas Spirit with an event at Westminster Abbey called “Together at Christmas.” The event was a tribute in honor of the unsung heroes of COVID-19. The special Christmas carol concert had 1,200 people including those who helped their communities as the pandemic swept through the country.
The event was also attended by several members of the royal family and will be aired on ITV, on Christmas Eve. Kate Middleton, Prince William and their family, along with other royal members are expected to spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth II at Sandringham.
