Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce expressed his grief on the mass shooting that occurred when the victory parade of the Super Bowl winner was ending on Wednesday. Kansas City Chiefs were celebrating their much-deserved 25-22 narrow win with a train when there was a shooting that killed one and injured many. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, wife Brittany Mahomes, and other team members also expressed their grief on the senseless shooting.

Travis Kelce posted on X, “I am heartbroken over the tragedy today. My heart is with all who came to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me.”

The shooting took place in Union Station in Kansas City, an area very close to where the victory parade took place. A video on social media shows fans tackling a person to the ground, and the person is being questioned as a person of interest in the shooting. Paul Contreras reportedly tackled a person with a gun during the victory rally of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said three people were detained for questioning. The authorities were “working to determine if one of the three is the one that was in (a) video where fans assisted police.”
