Juke Harris hit seven 3-pointers and scored 22 of his 28 points in the second half to power Wake Forest over West Virginia 75-66 in the Holiday Hoopfest in Charleston, W.Va., on Saturday.

Tre’von Spillers added 16 points and four rebounds for Wake Forest (7-3) and Nate Calmese recorded 10 assists and four steals.

Honor Huff hit five of West Virginia’s six 3-pointers and led the Mountaineers (7-3) with a season-high-tying 24 points. Chance Moore chipped in with 16 points and eight rebounds.

After picking up two fouls in the first half, which limited him to just six minutes, Harris took over the game after halftime.

With West Virginia leading 36-34 early in the second half, Harris hit a pair of treys to help the Demon Deacons go on a 13-0 run and take a 47-36 lead. Omaha Biliew chipped in with a 3-pointer during the run and Spillers capped it off with a two-handed dunk.

Harris hit his fifth trey of the night with 7:21 left to give the Deacs a 61-49 lead. The Mountaineers responded with a 7-0 run behind a pair of Huff 3-pointers to cut the deficit to 61-56 with 5:30 to go.

Wake Forest got a layup from Calmese and a pair of buckets from Spillers to take a 67-56 lead with 3:49 to play.

Harris’ final 3-pointer put the game away, giving Wake Forest a 75-64 lead with 26 seconds remaining.

The first half featured runs for both teams. The Demon Deacons used their defense to go on a 14-3 spurt to take a 27-15 advantage. During that stretch, West Virginia’s only points came on three Brenen Lorient free throws as the team didn’t make a field goal for over six minutes of play.

A Huff 3-pointer with 5:01 left in the first half snapped the Wake Forest run. Huff’s trey was the first of the game for West Virginia, which missed its first 11 shots from long distance.

Huff went on to hit three treys and score 12 points during a 17-2 run that helped the Mountaineers take a 32-29 lead with 53 seconds left in the half.

The teams exchanged buckets to head into halftime tied at 34.

The Mountaineers went 4 for 19 from three in the first half and 6 for 27 overall.
