In a rare move, Thursday morning’s ruling by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny decision denied Pop Star Britney Spears father, James Spears objections about sharing monetary control over the conservatorship with a financial institution, Bessemer Trust who was appointed last year. The ruling means that Jamie Spears should split the role with an independent financial institution
It appears that the judge is starting to side with Britney Spears, but it’s not a complete victory for her.
In 2019, Britney Spears was the center of the feature-length documentary released on FX and Hulu ” Framing Britney Spears,”, when she suffered a mental breakdown. Her father, James Spears became co-conservator since 2008. In 2019, her father became sole conservator in 2019 after attorney Andrew Wallet resigned from his co-conservatorship.
Fans and close friends were empathetic to Britney’s issues and did not trust her father having so much increased power over her financial affairs. Fans started the #FreeBritney movement.
Britney has wanted her father out of his conservatorship role for quite some time.
Back in November of 2020, Britney Spears lost in court to remove father from conservatorship and had refused to perform.
