On Thursday, Johnny Depp celebrity actor’s bodyguard, Malcolm Connolly, testified in celebrity actor Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against his ex-wife. He revealed that he saw his client change from being blissfully in love to ‘silent’ as Heard grew more ‘dominant’ and ‘demanding.’
As Johnny Depp’s marriage to Amber Heard became increasingly tumultuous, his bodyguard noticed injuries and marks on the actor’s face. Connolly testified in court on Thursday, saying he never witnessed the two engage in physical violence, but that he did observe injuries and scratches on Depp’s face.
But, according to Connolly, who describes himself as a ‘protection officer,’ things ‘began to shift’ between the two of them and their squabbling became more frequent.
Amber began to change, he said. She became more fiery and demanding. Connolly testified that the actor had a swollen face during his honeymoon with ex-wife Amber Heard. During her marriage to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star, the ‘Aquaman’ actress ‘wanted to wear the trousers,’ according to her bodyguard.
Malcolm responded that most people would not engage in physical violence in front of security staff when asked if he’d seen any of them get aggressive with each other. Johnny’s drug addiction was also discussed by Malcolm. He admitted that he knew Johnny smoked pot and drank alcohol.
Insiders think that the celebrity model Amber Heard will be a ‘very effective weapon’ in her $100 million countersuit against ex-husband Johnny Depp when she takes the stand in her sensational defamation trial on Monday. In his four days of testimony, Depp claimed he was the victim of domestic abuse, with his bodyguard describing cuts on the actor’s face yesterday. The A-list trial in Virginia began on April 11 and is expected to run another three weeks.
Following three weeks of sitting calmly in the courtroom during Depp’s evidence, Heard has filed a countersuit for $100 million, and she plans to resume her fight next week.
Earlier on Thursday, jurors heard a brief statement from Depp’s business manager, Ed White, who said he interfered in 2016 to help Depp overcome financial issues such as unpaid taxes and a liquidity crunch.
It has also been brought to light that Tesla CEO Elon Musk funded roughly half of ex-girlfriend Amber Heard’s payment to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) after she committed to give up her multimillion-dollar divorce settlement to charity following her split from Depp, according to testimony heard in court.
The actress has only paid $1.3 million of the $3.5 million she promised the ACLU over six years ago, with Musk’s money accounting for a significant portion of the total. After the two began dating, the 50-year-old Tesla founder donated $500,000 to a civil rights organization on Heard’s behalf.
According to Terence Dougherty, the ACLU Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, the ACLU assumed Heard’s $3.5 million donation would be spread out over ten years based on emails with Musk.
