Desmond Bane drove for a go-ahead layup with 0.9 seconds left to lift the Orlando Magic to a 128-127 overtime victory over the host Utah Jazz on Saturday night in Salt Lake City.

Bane led Orlando with 32 points and six rebounds. Paolo Banchero added 23 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and two blocks. Anthony Black chipped in 20 points, six rebounds and five assists. Noah Penda tallied 13 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.

Keyonte George led Utah with 27 points and nine assists. Svi Mykhailiuk added 23 points while reserve Isaiah Collier had 18 points and nine assists. Kevin Love chipped in 16 points and a season-high 16 rebounds off the bench.

Utah leading scorer Lauri Markkanen missed a second straight game with a right groin injury.

The Jazz rallied from a 19-point deficit and forced overtime on Collier’s driving layup with 5.2 seconds left in regulation.

George gave Utah a 127-126 lead after converting a four-point play with 4.1 seconds remaining in overtime. Bane countered by driving for a game-winning finger roll layup on the other end.

Bane was a force for the Magic in the first half, scoring 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting. His scoring helped spark a 17-4 run that put Orlando up 56-47 late in the second quarter. Noah Penda scored the visitors’ final three baskets during the go-ahead run, capping it with a tip dunk.

Utah chipped away at the deficit, drawing with 58-56 on Filipowski’s driving layup. Bane countered with back-to-back baskets to keep the Jazz from overtaking the Magic before halftime.

The Jazz trimmed the deficit to a basket again in the third when George drained a 3-pointer to cut Orlando’s lead to 78-76 halfway through the period. Banchero helped the Magic pull away again. He scored or assisted on six baskets that formed part of a 19-2 run extending the lead to 97-78.
