James Franco, who recently confessed to fighting sex addiction for years, is now facing new troubles. He has been asked to depose on an alleged affair with Amber Heard as well as about alleged bruises that were seen on Heard’s face. Just as he finally confronted some of his past sexual misconduct and more, the actor will now have to depose for a lawsuit filed by Johnny Depp, according to a report by Page Six.
The 58-year old actor has filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, in Virginia. The suit is over an op-ed that she wrote for the Washington Post, in 2018. The long article mentioned her being a victim of domestic violence. Although she didn’t mention Depp by name, he said that it was clear that she had been referring to him. He denied being abusive.
James Franco received the subpoena to depose as a May 2016 surveillance video identified the actor in an elevator with Heard. This incident took place 24 hours after an alleged fight between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. She said that he allegedly gave her a black eye at that point in time.
The surveillance video shows Heard and Franco leaving the elevator at the same time, on the penthouse floor. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had shared an apartment in the penthouse.
Depp’s lawyers say that they would like to question James Franco as a witness. They want to ask him if he and Amber Heard had discussed the fight. They would also like to know if he had observed any injuries on her face.
James Franco will be deposed next year. Amber Heard’s lawyers say that James Franco was a resident in the building around the same time that the alleged incident took place. Both of them simply took the elevator at the same time. However, Depp’s lawyers said that the explanation was a “lie.”
James Franco and Amber Heard have been costars. They starred in the film “The Adderall Diaries,” which was released in 2016. Depp had reportedly accused Heard of sleeping with her co-star in 2015. James Franco has described sex as a “powerful drug.” He also said that he was unfortunately “hooked on it for 20 more years.”
