Jailed mogul Sean Diddy Combs has filed an appeal against a federal judge’s decision that has kept him in jail before his trial. The rapper, who faced several sexual misconduct as well as trafficking charges, has already been denied bail in his last two attempts. He has hired two more high-profile lawyers in a bid to be released from detention.
Marc Agnifilo has represented the disgraced hip-hop mogul and has been unable to get bail. Sean Diddy Combs has added two more high-profile attorneys, Anthony Ricco and Alexandra Shapiro, to his renowned legal team.
On Monday, Diddy’s legal team filed a notice of appeal in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Sean Diddy Combs was arrested on September 16. He was arraigned on the following day and has been charged with counts of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Many electronic equipment, baby oil, lubricant, and other paraphernalia were seized when the FBI raided his homes in Miami, as earlier reported by CWEB.
Sean Diddy Combs has pleaded not guilty to the crimes. He applied for bail using his home and his mother’s home in Miami, worth $50 million, as collateral. Judge Andrew L. Carter denied him bail.
Judge Carter upheld the ruling on September 17 by the first judge, U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky.
