Alyssa Henry, the CEO of Square, is stepping down, and Jack Dorsey will take over in the meantime.
The CEO of Square, a division of Block, Jack Dorsey’s fintech business, Alyssa Henry, will leave the organization at the end of the month.
Henry, who has more than nine years of experience at Block, will leave his position as Square’s CEO on October 2, per a regulatory filing made on Monday. After more than nine years working for the company, Alyssa Henry will depart on October 2, according to the filing.
After the bell, shares of Block Inc. were down 2.7% to $49.86. The Jack Dorsey-led Block, which provides merchant payment services and a bitcoin trading app, reported a jump in quarterly revenue last month that was aided by increasing payment volumes.
Henry served on the boards of Intel and the software company Unity Technologies in her prior roles as vice president at Amazon Web Services. Prior to Square, she also held roles at Microsoft.
