Phone Buff conducted an app speed test in a real-world app pitting the iPhone 12 Pro against the Samsung Note 20 Ultra in which the iPhone 12 won. The A14 chip and 6GB RAM in the iPhone 12 outperformed the Snapdragon 856 chip and 12GB RAM in Samsung’s Note 20 Ultra smartphone.
The test measured the time taken to open a series of apps. Both the smartphones opened the same series of apps such as Facebook, Adobe Rush, the camera app, Microsoft apps, games and many more.
The iPhone 12 Pro raced ahead in the first lap by opening video in Adobe Rush and launching several games in 1 minute and 41 seconds. The Samsung Note 20 Ultra completed the same in 1 minute and 55 seconds.
In the second lap, the test measured the ability of the smartphones to keep apps running in the background. The iPhone took 42 seconds while Samsung Note needed 46 seconds.
The iPhone 12 is now the new champion beating Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra which was the previous champion, in this specific app speed test for smartphones. Phone Buff says that it has been twenty months since an iPhone held the top spot.
