Iowa forward Kris Murray declared for the 2023 NBA Draft on Friday, making the announcement via social media.

Murray recorded team-leading averages in points (20.2) and rebounds (7.9) over 29 games (all starts) this past season. The 6-foot-8 Murray also led the team in 3-pointers with 66.

“First off, I want to thank Coach (Fran) McCaffery, the coaching staff, my teammates and Hawkeye Nation for an incredible three years,” Murray, 22, wrote on Twitter. “Growing up in Cedar Rapids (Iowa) and getting to wear the black and gold has allowed me to live out my dream and accomplish so much on the basketball floor. I appreciate everyone who has supported me through this journey and who will continue to support me as I chase my highest goals!”

Murray previously announced his intention to enter the 2022 NBA Draft last April, however he withdrew his name shortly thereafter.

His twin brother, Keegan, was selected by Sacramento with the fourth overall pick of the 2022 draft. He is averaging 12.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in 78 games (76 starts) this season for the playoff-bound Kings.
