A state lawmaker has warned that if the murders of four students are not solved, the University of Idaho will face a “snowball disaster.” Idaho House Minority Leader Ilana Rubel, 50, revealed that the state has already donated $1 million to the investigation into the murders of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Maddie Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20. With the murders still unsolved after nearly a month, Rubel is concerned that the school will face ‘collapsed enrollment’ and a wave of students transferring.
I just spoke with Idaho House Minority Leader @IlanaRubel– she says she stands with the governors commitment to fund the investigation into the murders at the University of Idaho. Saying if it does not get solved, soon, it could be detrimental for the University. #VandalStrong pic.twitter.com/UaD1eMjFLL

Rubel warned that if they don’t get to the bottom of it, it’s likely to be a huge disaster for the University. She said that she knew that people did not want to return. Parents are afraid; nobody wants to send their children to a community where they will face such horrors. It was every parent’s nightmare and every student’s nightmare. They must track down the perpetrator.
The Democratic lawmaker made the remarks after DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that a student’s father gave her a gun to protect herself and that others block front doors with chairs at night.
Moscow police say they have received over 2,600 email tips, over 2,700 phone calls, 113 pieces of physical evidence, over 1,084 digital media submissions to the FBI link, and have photographed the crime scene with multiple three-dimensional scans of the residence. Sleuths and webfans who follow criminal cases are also actively searching for clues online.
Kaylee Goncalves’ family have reportedly revealed that her injuries were more severe than Xana’s, her boyfriend Ethan’s, or even Maddie, who was with her in bed when they were killed on November 13. Her injuries were “significantly more brutal” than those of the other victims, fueling speculation that she was the intended victim of the quadruple homicide. The police have denied providing this information to Goncalves.
Police say they are zeroing in on the movements of two of the University of Idaho victims, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin, the night they were murdered. @KaynaWhitworth has the latest. pic.twitter.com/5fDZ0JECnS

However, the Moscow Police Department announced on Monday that it is looking into the movements of Ethan and Xana, who visited Ethan’s frat house hours before the murders.
