Leonard, 39, of Moscow, Idaho, allegedly slashed himself with a knife after beating his wife and her daughter late Tuesday. In 2007, he accepted a plea deal for manslaughter and served time. A convicted murderer was arrested on battery charges just a mile from the scene of the November murders of four University of Idaho students. He was for allegedly beating his wife and stalking her with a knife, but he is now being falsely accused of killing four University of Idaho students, according to his wife, reports say.

An ex-con was apprehended this week just over a mile from the scene of an unsolved quadruple stabbing that killed four University of Idaho students in their sleep early on a November Saturday. According to court documents, James Leonard, 39, of Moscow, Idaho, allegedly beat his wife and her daughter late Tuesday evening and slashed himself with a knife. His arrest on Wednesday was unrelated to the nearby Nov. 13 home invasion murders, according to police.

The wife of James Curtis Leonard told on Friday that there is a lot of crazy stuff going on, but her husband did not have anything to do with what happened up there. Their Moscow trailer home a mile from the quadruple homicide place. Her husband, 39, is being held on $100,000 bail for the alleged attack on Tuesday. Leonard, according to police, had nothing to do with the recent killings. However, the speculation continues.

Leonard’s wife revealed that her family is still subjected to online harassment, including speculation about her husband’s involvement in a video titled “James Curtis Leonard!” SUSPECT. Moscow, Idaho,’ has received 19,000 views since Thursday.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the murders appears to have reached a tipping point on Wednesday, when local authorities revealed they are looking for information about a white Hyundai Elantra seen near the students’ home around the time of the murders. Due to the volume of calls with tips and leads, the department has now directed the tip line to an FBI call center. The incident in which Leonard is accused of physically abusing his wife and daughter occurred on Tuesday.

According to the complaint, Leonard yelled that his wife had cut him and that he needed assistance. When police arrived, they discovered Leonard’s wife bleeding from the nose. Leonard emerged from his locked room with blood on his hands and a cut on his forearm. He was charged with domestic violence battery, aggravated assault, attempted strangulation, and child injury. Leonard was found guilty of manslaughter in 2009 after fatally shooting a man who had threatened him in 2007.

The normally peaceful and secure city of Moscow has received increased media attention in recent weeks as police continue to investigate the quadruple murders. On Wednesday, Moscow Police provided perhaps the most significant update in the investigation, revealing that detectives are now looking for the occupant or occupants of a white 2011-2013 Hyundai Elantra. Web Fans  who follow criminal cases are also actively searching for clues online.
