Hunter Dickinson scored a game-high 21 points as No. 3 Kansas overwhelmed Oklahoma State 90-66 on Tuesday night in a Big 12 matchup at Stillwater, Okla.
Kansas (15-2, 3-1 Big 12) notched its second win in a row, while Oklahoma State (8-9, 0-4) lost for the fourth straight time.
The Jayhawks, who led by as many as 28 points, registered their largest margin of victory in nearly two months.
Kansas dominated in all facets of the game, shooting 62.1 percent from the floor to Oklahoma State’s 39.6 percent, outrebounding the Cowboys 33-25 and outscoring the hosts in the paint 46-24.
All five Kansas starters scored in double figures. Kevin McCullar Jr scored 18 and contributed a game-high eight assists. KJ Adams Jr. added 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting, while Dajuan Harris Jr. had 11 points.
Johnny Furphy, a 6-foot-9 freshman wing from Australia, matched his season high with 15 points for Kansas — all in the first half.
Bryce Thompson led Oklahoma State with 20 points. Brandon Garrison and Jarius Hicklen had 10 points apiece.
Kansas jumped in front from the start, scoring six points on fastbreaks and forcing Cowboys coach Mike Boynton to call his first timeout just 1:08 into the game with a 6-0 deficit.
The Jayhawks kept building their lead with a series of runs that Oklahoma State struggled to counter. With 12:06 left in the half, Kansas began an eight-point run, culminating on a dunk by Adams and a fastbreak layup from McCullar just before the half’s midpoint.
Kansas reeled off two more five-point runs after that and led by as many as 20 before going into the locker room up 48-33 at the half.
The Jayhawks had a stellar first half, outscoring Oklahoma State 24-10 in the paint, getting 12 fastbreak points and scoring nine from seven Cowboys turnovers.
Furphy was 5-for-5 from the floor and 3-for-3 on 3-point attempts in the opening half. Thompson led Oklahoma State with nine points before halftime.
