Google owned YouTube TV has released the rates of its NFL “Sunday Ticket.” In December 2022, YouTube TV bought the NFL package rights for roughly $2 billion a year. The streaming channel, which reached 5 million subscribers last July, is hoping that its subscription bundles to the NFL Sunday Ticket will increase both its revenues and its subscribers.
YouTube checked the current market values, checked DirecTV’s earlier offerings and also spoke to existing subscribers and put forth the following costs.
Subscribers of YouTube TV, who are paying $72.99 a month, will have to pay $349 for the base “Sunday Ticket” package for the season. If subscribers choose a bundle with Redzone, which is the linear cable TV channel of NFL, they will have to pay $389 for the season.

NFL Sunday Ticket can also be chosen without a YouTube TV subscription. However, it will cost the viewer more as it will be offered through YouTube Primetime Channels. It allows users to subscribe to individual streaming services and channels as well as to watch movies. Here, the base plan will be offered at $449 while the bundle through Redzone will be available at $489.
Google is offering a $100 discount to any person who signs up for any of the above-mentioned packages before June 6.
Christian Oestlien, vice president of product management at YouTube said that they were partnering with the NFL to consider different packages. He called it a long-term partnership and mentioned that the Sunday Ticket package rates could change by next year.
Streaming the football games perfectly, without the hassles that Apple TV+ faced with its initial streaming of MLB or Amazon faced as its live streamed Thursday Night Football, will be the first challenge for YouTube. Once it gets its NFL Sunday Ticket live feed right, without interruptions or other hassles, as people will be paying a lot to watch the NFL matches, YouTube will be able to offer more features to its subscribers unlike traditional cable TV.
