Tesla (TSLA) and multiple companies CEO Elon Musk has been the richest man in the world for months, and the billionaire has reportedly added over $70 billion to his net worth after President-elect Donald Trump’s victory this November. The owner of SpaceX and xAI remains a strong supporter of Trump much after the election campaign, is often seen with him, and will also co-head a new department called DOGE.
Forbes, a popular outlet that tracks the richest billionaires in the world and the US, recently reported that Elon Musk is now the richest person in history. According to the outlet, the Tesla CEO’s real-time net worth is $334.3 billion as of 11/23/24.
Although Elon Musk is best known as the CEO of electric vehicle maker Tesla, his wealth also comes from other private companies in which he owns a major share.
According to the outlet, Musk owns about 12 percent of Tesla. He has pledged more than 50 percent of these shares as collateral as he took up to $3.5 billion in personal loans.
Musk also owns approximately 42 percent of SpaceX. The rocket-making company, which also provides the Internet through Starlink, is worth roughly $210 billion. He founded the company in 2002.
Billionaire entrepreneur Musk also owns roughly 54 percent of xAI, an artificial intelligence startup estimated to be worth $50 billion.
Elon Musk bought the platform X, formerly called Twitter, and made it private. This is the only company of his that has seen losses, as it has reportedly faced a 70 percent loss in value. However, recent reports, including those from CWEB, say that major American giants are returning to X, and advertising revenues are slowly increasing.
Elon Musk is flying high above the clouds after his relentless campaigning for Trump succeeded. He has become the president-elect’s favorite, and the two are seen together at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s residence, at a UFC fight in New York, and at a rocket launch in Texas.
President-elect Donald Trump appointed him to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) along with American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
