According to her lawyer, the celebrity couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are finally getting divorced. The once famous Mr and Mrs Smith became legally embroiled in somewhat ugly and damaging spats, leading to long, acrimonious proceedings that were sometimes fought in the public domain. The couple has finally legally ended their fairytale wedding, which later became a nightmare.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reportedly became close while filming, although Pitt was reportedly married to Friends alum Jennifer Aniston then. Pitt and Jolie got married in 2014. They have six children. Angelina Jolie applied for a divorce just two years after they got married.

A Jolie source told People, “Angelina is relieved the divorce is finalized.”

Brad Pitt’s representative declined to comment or to confirm the news.

Although the divorce has been finalized after eight years, it appears as if the acrimonious battle about a French winery they owned is ongoing. Angelina Jolie reportedly sold her stake in Chateau Miraval to a competitor instead of Pitt, and he filed a lawsuit against her.

Angelina Jolie claimed that Brad Pitt had put forth a nonacceptable nondisclosure agreement, so she sold it to another interested company.

Although the couple has six children and received joint custody of the children in 2021, Angelina Jolie accused Brad Pitt of mistreatment of their children. It appears as if three of them have already dropped Brad Pitt’s name.

Vivienne Jolie reportedly dropped their father’s name when she appeared in a production of The Outsiders on Broadway early this year.

In 2023, when Brad and Angelina Jolie’s eldest daughter Zahara joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College, she was heard introducing herself as Zahara Marley Jolie.

Shiloh Jolie, the third child of Angelina and Brad, appears to be the only one who has legally dropped Pitt from her name. She filed a petition in a Los Angeles court. She took action to be called Shiloh Jolie on May 27, 2024. This date was her 18th birthday.
