Did you know that the Apple Watch is the most popular smart watch in the world? More than 100 million people around the globe have an Apple watch. According to Counterpoint Research’s Global Smartwatch Shipments Tracker, Apple maintained its top position in terms of shipments and its user base had crossed 100 million in Q-2. However, Neil Cybart believes that Apple might have crossed this milestone in December.
People are adding the Apple Watch on their wrist to add style, to use its health features as well as for other services. Although sales are down at 28 percent when compared with 30 percent in the same quarter last year, the tech giant is still selling more smart watches than Huawei, Samsung, and Garmin.
The most popular smart watches this quarter are
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch SE
- Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2
- Apple Watch Series 3
- Imoo Z6-4G
A new series, Apple Watch Series 7 is expected to debut in September 17 along with the iPhone 13. The Series 7 might be the first redesign of the watch and may have the following features:
- a flat edged design
- a bigger display
- new 41mm and 45mm case sizes.
Apple does not release details about any of its products but there are many tipsters and analysts who leak design or feature updates which are sometimes true or come close to the actual design.
Some of the reported features for the new Series 7 include
- a rugged Apple watch
- a durable design
- corner protection
- impact resistance
- a new green color
- a glucose monitor
- an edge-to-edge screen
- a longer battery life
- updated software
The prospect of Apple Watch Series 7 launch in mid-September is very high as there was an August listing in the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) data base that suggests its imminent debut.
The EEC database has listed six new Apple Watch identifiers which might be Apple Watch Series 7 models. They are
- A2473
- A2474
- A2475
- A2476
- A2477
