A married mother of two daughters claims that after a janitor contaminated her water bottles at her workplace, she contracted an untreatable STD. The janitor, 50-year-old Lucio Diaz, has been charged of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and indecent assault. The 54-year-old victim has wished to remain unnamed.
The woman, who works in a doctor’s office, started to become concerned in August when the office water dispenser started to smell bad and seem polluted. She then made a commitment to only consume liquids from water bottles that she brought to work. She had installed spy cameras in her office by the end of September to support her allegations. According to court documents, surveillance footage captured the janitor in the act, and a urinalysis performed at her workplace verified her darkest suspicions.
The lady said that she learned she had acquired a sexually-transmitted disease. The janitor was also tested positive for the same disease, she said. She stated that she had given her STD and she will now have to live with it for the rest of her life. The victim said that the janitor was a sick man, and that 11 others had come forward to be tested for STD.
The victim gave the police two water bottles after the urinalysis. After being confronted by authorities, Diaz admitted to the act, doing it with “malicious intent” and that it was a “disease.” He admitted to doing something similar at his last work as well, although being unaware of his STD.
According to court documents, Diaz is being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Unknown is the Mexican national’s immigration and employment status. The victim said that Diaz continued to work at the establishment despite management’s notification. Kim Spurlock, an attorney, is helping her.
