Atlanta Hawks forward De’Andre Hunter will undergo a non-surgical procedure Tuesday on his injured right knee that will keep him out at least two weeks, the team announced Monday.
Hunter, 26, missed the past two games with knee soreness that had been bothering him for several weeks. On Saturday, he underwent an MRI exam at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex in Atlanta that revealed inflammation in the right knee.
The team said Hunter will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks, meaning the earliest he could return is Jan. 10 when the Hawks host the Philadelphia 76ers.
He is averaging 14.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 24 games (all starts) in his fifth season with the Hawks (12-17).
