Santi Aldama tied his career high with 29 points and Jock Landale added 21 as the Memphis Grizzlies snapped a five-game losing streak with a 137-96 victory Thursday over the visiting Sacramento Kings.

The Grizzlies set a franchise record with 42 assists while handing Sacramento its eighth straight loss.

Aldama was 11-of-18 shooting with five 3-pointers, while Landale made eight of his nine field-goal attempts. Rookie Cedric Coward finished with 19 points and big man Zach Edey scored 16 points — all in the opening half — on 7-of-7 shooting.

Memphis was productive offensively despite playing without its two All-Stars, Ja Morant (calf) and Jaren Jackson Jr. (ankle), who sat out the game with injuries. Vince Williams Jr., filling in at point guard for the Grizzlies, had a career-high 15 assists.

Sacramento was led by Zach LaVine, who scored 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting. Maxime Raynaud added 12 points and Keegan Murray, making his season debut after returning from preseason thumb surgery, finished with 11 points. Russell Westbrook also scored 11 for the Kings.

The Grizzlies put this game away in the first half. Memphis led at the break, 75-47, pushing its lead to as many as 29 points in the final minute of the half. The Grizzlies, who had their highest-scoring first half of the season, had 25 assists and only two turnovers in the first two quarters. Memphis did not turn the ball over in the second quarter.

In the second half, the Grizzlies pushed their advantage to more than 40 points on several occasions. When Olivier-Maxence Prosper scored on a driving dunk with 3:09 left, it gave Memphis a 47-point cushion (136-89). Cam Spencer’s assist on the dunk was the 42nd assist in the game for the Grizzlies, setting a franchise record.

Sacramento extended its longest losing streak since 2020-21. At 3-13, the Kings matched their worst start in franchise history.
