ATLANTA-Grandmother stabbed to death in garage in gated Atlanta upscale neighborhood over car jacking.
77-year-old Eleanor Bowles. Atlanta Police say she walked into her garage on Saturday as a young man was in the process of stealing her SUV. She was stabbed multiple times. Eleanor’s son found his mom Saturday afternoon. He just talked to her around 11:30am as he was on his way to see her. It’s believed she was killed a short time after the phone call.
Bowles’ SUV was found Saturday night. This heinous crime happened about a mile from the Governor’s mansion on West Paces Ferry Road. Her home was inside the gated community of the Paces West subdivision right across from OK Cafe near the interstate.
At a news conference on Monday night, Mayor Andre Dickens revealed that Antonio Brown, 23, had been detained. He was supposed to make his initial appearance in court on Tuesday, but sources told 11Alive that he waived that.
