Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 31 points and had 20 rebounds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 122-116 win over the host Toronto Raptors on Friday.

Gary Trent Jr. also had 20 points for the Bucks and Cole Anthony had 23 off the bench for Milwaukee.

Ryan Rollins started at point guard for Kevin Porter Jr., who sprained his left ankle in the opener Wednesday night, and finished with 13 points.

Antetokounmpo also had seven assists, giving him 152 games with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. He had 37 points, 14 rebounds and five assists Wednesday against the Wizards.

Brandon Ingram led the Raptors with 29 points, RJ Barrett had 20 and Immanuel Quickley had 19.

The two teams traded the lead 17 times through three quarters, and it was tied 86-86 going into the fourth quarter.

Anthony gave the Bucks a 103-99 lead to cap an 8-0 run, but the Raptors fought back and a Barrett inside shot with 5:45 left tied it at 105.

The Bucks clung to a 110-109 lead when Trent hit a 3-pointer with 3:16 left to finally give Milwaukee some breathing room with a four-point lead.

Anthony hit a jumper with 2:23 left for a 115-110 Bucks lead and then scored on a layup with 1:09 left for a 117-111 lead.

The Raptors were able to cut the lead to 118-114 in the final minute, but Trent hit a 3-pointer from the corner to put the game away.

The Bucks went on a 17-6 run to finish the first quarter with a 27-19 lead. Antetokounmpo scored 12 points, hitting all four of his shots from the floor.

Toronto, however, took advantage of Antetokounmpo going to the bench in the closing minutes of the first quarter and starting the second quarter.

The Raptors went on a 16-4 run with Antetokounmpo on the bench to take a 35-33 lead with 7:27 left in the half.

Toronto extended the run to 23-6 to take a 42-35 lead with 5:37 left in the half.

Milwaukee had 13 turnovers in the first half after only having eight in the opening win over the Washington Wizards. It was the most first-half turnovers for the Bucks since 2022.

The Bucks fought back, however, and a Trent 3-pointer with just a minute to go cut the Raptors’ halftime lead to 54-52.

Antetokounmpo finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, but he was the only Milwaukee player in double figures in the first half.
