KJ Lewis collected 20 points and 10 rebounds and Vince Iwuchukwu added 17 points off the bench, fueling host Georgetown to an 83-70 victory over Binghamton on Wednesday in Washington, D.C.

Lewis, a transfer from Arizona, made 8 of 14 shots from the floor to help the Hoyas improve to 3-0 for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Iwuchukwu sank 5 of 9 shots from the field and 7 of 9 from the free-throw line.

Malik Mack followed up his 19-point, eight-rebound performance in Georgetown’s 70-60 win over Maryland last Friday with 13 points against the Bearcats.

The Hoyas shot a robust 46.3% from the floor despite making just 4 of 19 shots from 3-point range.

Binghamton’s Jeremiah Quigley, a Maryland native, scored 14 of his 17 points in the first half and finished with eight assists.

Jackson Benigni had 15 points off the bench and Washington D.C. native Bryson Wilson added 13 points for the Bearcats (1-3).

Demetrius Lilley added 11 points despite shooting just 3 of 11 from the floor for Binghamton.

Wilson’s layup brought Binghamton within five points at 45-40 early in the second half before Georgetown responded with an 11-2 run. Mack highlighted that stretch by knocking down a 3-pointer to go along with a layup and two free throws.

The Hoyas extended their lead to 23 points at 79-56 following DeShawn Harris-Smith’s layup with just under 4 1/2 minutes to play to effectively seal the win.

Early on, Jeremiah Williams sank a free throw and joined Kayvaun Mulready and Lewis in draining a 3-pointer as Georgetown went on a 10-2 run to secure a 19-11 lead.

Binghamton trimmed its deficit to one point on four occasions before Lewis made a trio of baskets — including a buzzer-beating jumper — to stake the Hoyas to a 41-36 lead at halftime.
