FTC makes Fortnite’s developer, Epic Games, pay $245 million to resolve claims

Fortnite’s developer, Epic Games, has agreed to pay $245 million to resolve claims made by the Federal Trade Commission about in-game purchases. The business allegedly charged parents and gamers of all ages for unnecessary things, and it blocked the accounts of clients who protested incorrect payments to their credit card companies, according to the FTC.

Who can submit a refund application?

Should any of these claims below be accurate, you are eligible to request a refund. Epic games

You were charged in-game currency for items you didn’t want between January 2017 and September 2022.From January 2017 to November 2018, your credit card was charged by your child without your knowledge.

After you reported to your credit card company about unauthorized charges, your account was restricted from January 2017 until September 2022.

To fill out a claim form, you have to be at least eighteen. A parent or legal guardian must fill out the claim form on your behalf if you are under eighteen.

Apply online at www.fortniterefund.com/file-a-claim.

To apply for a refund, you will need a claim number or your Epic Account ID.

If you didn’t get an email with a claim number, you can locate your Epic Account ID by following these steps.

There is only one deadline for filing claims: January 17, 2024.
