In a horrifying string of “execution style” killings in a Texas residence, a suspect brandishing an AR-15 style rifle left five people dead, according to authorities. The other five people in the home survived.
His neighbor asked if Oropeza could please be quiet as her baby was unable to sleep due to the noise he was making. He then went crazy and shot all five family members and friends. A mother and her 8 years old little boy were killed. When the police entered the home, they found two people over two children’s bodies indicating they were trying to save the children from the bullets fired.
The suspect was not in the United States illegally and it was reported he was deported five times. Police had announced an $80,000 reward leading to the information and capture of Oropeza.
The FBI received a tip about his whereabouts this evening, and he was apprehended at roughly 6:45 p.m. at a Conroe, Texas, residence. Soon after officials raised the cash reward for information leading to Oropesa’s apprehension, he was arrested. After the FBI offered a $25,000 reward, multi-county Crime Stoppers offered $5,000, Texas Governor Greg Abbott added $50,000, and the U.S. Marshals added $20,000 on Tuesday.
The domestic partner of the San Jacinto County mass murder suspect Divimara Lamar Nava was arrested Tuesday for hindering apprehension of a felon and was among those detained when he was taken into custody on Tuesday, according to an update from District Attorney Todd Dillon on Wednesday. She is being held on a $250,000 bond.
A close friend or acquaintance of Oropesa was arrested for marijuana possession Tuesday night and placed in the San Jacinto County Jail. He is thought to have assisted Oropesa in leaving the area where the crime was committed. Dillon stated that more charges would be brought.
A judge is anticipated to set Oropesa’s bond at $5 million. He is expected to face five murder charges, according to the official. So far it is reported that only one count of first-degree criminal murder has been brought.

“Anybody that helped this maniac definitely has some kind of issue as far as I’m concerned,” the sheriff said. Authorities said the suspect had a cellphone when he was found.
